Belgian National Food Consumption Survey (2022-2023): Food consumption – Detailed GloboDiet dataset
Food consumption data were collected in the national sample (3 years and older) using two non-consecutive 24-hour dietary recalls (or records in the case of children) performed with the GloboDiet software. The 24-hour recall method is discussed in detail on page 12 of the methodology report available on https://fcs.sciensano.be . The resulting “Detailed GloboDiet dataset” contains multiple rows for each participant and each recall day, corresponding to the list of consumed foods and recipes by the participant on a certain recall day. The columns contain information about the foods and recipes consumed. For each food consumed, the content of a range of nutrients is provided, as well as the corresponding quantities consumed. One variable of the dataset is named “TYPE” and refers of the type of data. When the goal is to analyse food or nutrient intake, TYPES ‘4’,’5’,’6’ and ‘7’ have to be selected. When analysing supplement or nutrients from supplement intake, TYPE ‘9’ has to be selected. TYPES ‘3’,’A2’,’A3’,’8’ should not be selected.

- Provenance
-
- Food consumption data were collected in the national sample (aged 3+) using two non-consecutive 24-hour dietary recalls (or records in the case of children) conducted with the GloboDiet software. The dataset includes detailed records of foods, recipes and supplements consumed on each recall/record day, with associated nutrient and quantity information per item. Data are structured by participant and recall day, with a variable indicating data type to distinguish food intake from supplement-related records. Sociodemographic and Food Propensity Questionnaire (FPQ) variables are also available in this dataset.
