Belgisch toezicht op de hiv-virale belasting

De monitoring van de hiv-virale belasting wordt uitgevoerd door de zeven Belgische referentielaboratoria voor aids (ARL). Sinds 2006 registreren zij de virale belasting van alle mensen met hiv in België in een nationaal register. Het doel van de gegevensverwerking en -analyse is om de ontwikkeling van de hiv- en aidsepidemie in België in kaart te brengen. Aan de hand van deze gegevens kan het epidemiologische profiel van patiënten in de loop van de tijd worden beschreven, evenals de risico’s die aan de infectie verbonden zijn. De publicatie van statistische resultaten levert een belangrijke bijdrage aan de besluitvorming en de ontwikkeling van preventiecampagnes.

Purposes

  • The purpose of the data processing and analysis is to describe the evolution of the epidemic of HIV and AIDS in Belgium. The publication of statistical results contribute significantly to decision making and development of prevention campaigns.
