Belgische hiv-virale lading bij pasgeborenen

Kinderen van moeders met hiv worden door de zeven Belgische aidsreferentielaboratoria gevolgd vanaf de geboorte tot de leeftijd van 18 maanden, om een hiv-infectie te bevestigen of uit te sluiten. Sinds 2015 worden de viro-immunologische gegevens van deze pasgeborenen gerapporteerd in het Belgische surveillanceprogramma voor de hiv-virale lading en sinds 2018 in een specifiek register voor pasgeborenen. Hierdoor kan de moeder-op-kind-overdracht in België worden gevolgd.
