Dataset

Grâce à des collectes régulières de données, le projet IQED surveille la qualité des soins dans une centaine de centres de diabétologie reconnus à travers la Belgique et fournit des commentaires personnalisés, aidant ainsi les centres à améliorer la qualité de leurs soins.

Through regular data collections, the IQED project monitors quality of care in about 100 recognised diabetes centres throughout Belgium and provides individualised feedback, helping the centres to improve their quality of care.

Dataset

Diabetes is a burden for both patients and their parents who need to receive a specific education to properly manage the disease. Beside vascular complications, diabetes in youth is also linked with higher risk of diabetic ketoacidosis, severe episodes of hypoglycemia and comorbidity. Therefore management of diabetes in young patients should cover periodic assessment, attentive monitoring for glycemic control and screening of vascular complication and comorbidity. In Belgium, specific centres are recognized by the INAMI-RIZIV for the treatment of diabetes in youth.

Dataset

The Central Registry of Rare Diseases (CRRD) is a national database containing a minimal, pseudonymised, cross-sectional dataset on patients who have consulted an expert centre in Belgium for a rare disease. The registry includes patients with a confirmed rare disease diagnosis, as well as patients for whom all reasonable diagnostic efforts by rare disease experts, using state-of-the-art methods and available diagnostic capabilities, did not result in a conclusive diagnosis of a clinically recognised condition.
