Dataset

Safe-ZnO-BioPack is a METROFOOD-BE service provision use case in which Sciensano supports the safety assessment of a biodegradable nanocellulose-based food packaging system containing ZnO nanoparticles, olive leaf extract and pine resin. The project generates data on nanoparticle distribution, morphology and size through electron microscopy, together with chemical and migration data on zinc and ZnO release using ICP-MS/ICP-OES-based workflows.

Dataset

RECYPAP is a METROFOOD-BE use case focused on the preliminary risk assessment of substances potentially migrating from recycled paper and board food contact materials. The project compiles and structures information on chemicals that may be present in recycled fibre-based packaging, including additives, contaminants, degradation products and non-intentionally added substances.

Dataset

This dataset is used with "Antimicrobial resistance - Test" Dataset to highlight the representativity of the data. The dataset is sub-divided into a common set of system related variables (technical variables) and epidemiological variables. If coverage and representativeness differs by species the epidemiological variables must be provided at microorganism level. Otherwise, if coverage and representativeness are the same for all species, one AMRCOVER record per DataSource and year is expected.

Dataset

A national Health Interview Survey (HIS) provides an overall picture of the health status of the population and allows to identify the main health problems, as well as the social and behavioral factors that influence them. This information enables health authorities to pursue a proactive health policy aimed at improving public health and addressing the needs of groups at risk.

Dataset

Whole-genome sequencing data from 100 blood samples that have been collected from a reference cohort reflecting the general Belgian population. A matrix containing Single Nucleotide Variants (SNVs) identified in a sample of 100 BELHES participants. The file is a CSV file with one line per sample (pseudonymised ID) and one column per variant. Column headers are chr:position. Reference genome version used was GRCh38.

Grâce à des collectes régulières de données, le projet IQED surveille la qualité des soins dans une centaine de centres de diabétologie reconnus à travers la Belgique et fournit des commentaires personnalisés, aidant ainsi les centres à améliorer la qualité de leurs soins.

Through regular data collections, the IQED project monitors quality of care in about 100 recognised diabetes centres throughout Belgium and provides individualised feedback, helping the centres to improve their quality of care.

Dataset

One in four individuals with diabetes will develop diabetic foot ulcers. Without expert treatment, these ulcers will not heal and may result in lower-limb amputation. In Belgium, about 35 multidisciplinary centres are recognised by the INAMI-RIZIV for the treatment of these ulcers. Through regular data collections, the IQED-Foot project monitors quality of care in these centres and provides individualised feedback, helping the centres to improve their quality of care. The project is executed by Sciensano and governed by a group of national experts.

Dataset

Diabetes is a burden for both patients and their parents who need to receive a specific education to properly manage the disease. Beside vascular complications, diabetes in youth is also linked with higher risk of diabetic ketoacidosis, severe episodes of hypoglycemia and comorbidity. Therefore management of diabetes in young patients should cover periodic assessment, attentive monitoring for glycemic control and screening of vascular complication and comorbidity. In Belgium, specific centres are recognized by the INAMI-RIZIV for the treatment of diabetes in youth.
